In short: VisitBaška is free for guests, and some costs are covered by commission. When you book accommodation or an excursion through our link, the partner pays us a percentage. You do not pay any more than if you had gone directly.
Who we work with
- Stay22 — an intermediary that directs accommodation searches to platforms such as Booking, Airbnb, Expedia and Vrbo. You book with that platform, not with us.
- GetYourGuide — a platform for booking excursions, tours and activities. You book with them and the activity provider.
This list is complete as of the date this page was last updated. If we add a partner, we will add it here.
What this means for you
The price is the same. The commission is paid from the partner’s margin; it is not added to your bill. If you book directly on Booking instead of through us, you will pay the same — we simply will not receive anything.
You enter into a contract with the platform and the service provider. VisitBaška is not a party to that contract, does not charge you, issue an invoice, or change or cancel your booking. For changes, cancellations and refunds, contact the platform you booked with.
How we label it
Search engines and regulations require a link that earns us commission to be recognisable, and we prefer it that way too. Accommodation and excursion booking buttons lead to partner platforms, and this is stated next to them. This page exists so you do not have to guess.
What commission does not buy
We consider this the most important distinction on this page.
- Being listed. A business is on the portal because it exists in Baška, not because it earns us money. Listing is free, including for those with no connection to our partners.
- Order. Lists are not arranged by the size of the commission.
- Description. The editorial team writes the text using the same criteria for everyone.
- Removal. No one can pay to have a competitor removed from the portal.
Restaurants, cafés, events, guides and practical information on the portal earn us no commission at all. There is no partner programme here that we could join, and we do not plan to look for one.
Cookies and partner data
When you open a partner link, the platform you visit may set its own cookies to recognise that you came from our portal. Those cookies belong to that platform and are governed by its rules, not ours. The portal’s own cookies are explained in the cookie policy, and personal-data processing in the privacy policy.
Why we do it this way
The portal could have been funded by ads, paid listings or a subscription. We chose commission because it is the only one of the three that does not change what guests see: no banners over the content, no paid top spots and no wall in front of the information you need before arriving.
If you find the portal useful, booking through our link is one way to keep it going. If you prefer to book directly, that is completely fine too — the information stays the same and free.
