VisitBaška (visitbaska.com) is an independent destination portal dedicated to Baška on the island of Krk. It was created in 2026 as a private initiative by Ernest Perić, with the goal of offering visitors one place with current, verified, and practical information for planning their stay — accommodation, restaurants, activities, events, weather forecast, and guides.
We Are Not the Baška Tourist Board
VisitBaška is not the official website of the Baška Tourist Board. The official Baška Tourist Board is available at visitbaska.hr and for all questions requiring an official response (museum opening hours, tourist tax, public transport, registration of stay, permits) we direct visitors there directly. Our portal is informational and editorially independent.
What We Offer
- Guides — how to get to Baška (ferry, catamaran, car), parking, beaches, food, climate and bura wind.
- Accommodation — search via Stay22 partner (Booking, Airbnb, Expedia, Vrbo) with local comments.
- Activities — kayaking, diving, boat trips, cycling tours, fishing (via GetYourGuide).
- Restaurants — structured overview of taverns, fish restaurants, pizzerias and cafés with opening hours and contact details.
- Events and news — calendar of events and alerts (bura wind, ferry traffic, seasonal notices).
How the Portal Works
VisitBaška is automated as much as possible — content is gathered from open sources (Wikimedia, DHMZ weather forecast, public data), enriched with local knowledge and editorial checks, and translated into seven languages (Croatian, English, German, Italian, Czech, Hungarian, Polish). Images are primarily from free collections (Wikimedia Commons, Openverse) or our own photographs with explicit attribution.
We do not hold accommodation and excursion prices and availability — this data is always retrieved in real time from partners, so it is always current. Booking takes place directly with the partner; VisitBaška does not take deposits or process payments.
Monetization and Editorial Decisions
The portal is funded through affiliate programs with Stay22 and GetYourGuide — when you book accommodation or an excursion through our links, we receive a small commission from the partner, at no additional cost to you. This model allows content to remain free and accessible without subscription or paid posts.
We do not accept paid articles, sponsored reviews or promotional rankings — restaurants, accommodation and activities are not ranked by commercial criteria. If a local business wants to correct or supplement its information, it can contact [email protected] free of charge.
Who Is Behind the Portal
VisitBaška is a private project by Ernest Perić (Rijeka, Croatia), with years of experience in accommodation rental in Baška and web technology development. Full legal details (data controller, tax ID, address) can be found in the Imprint.
Editorial Policy
- All facts (opening hours, prices, addresses, phone numbers) are verified from at least one primary source.
- Identified errors are corrected within 48 hours of notification.
- Weather forecasts and alerts (bura wind) are automatically pulled from official sources (OpenWeather and DHMZ).
- We do not publish AI-generated images of locations, restaurants or events in production.
